about

And once more dragging the sullen corpse (that had done no one wrong) that was ‘Barcelona’ from ‘The Electric Church’… which once was a happy bouncy techno floor slasher and tribute to the great city of Spain (which had once been our playground) revisited and re-cynicalised into a mighty tome to Amerika home of the brave (lol). That Dan Gott guitar once more helps take this to a grisssly industrialised level. To add to the molten core of this concept add samples from Laibach which work plus a new vocal rant, new lyrics et al. Did I do the right thing or just wake up one morning on the wrong side of the bed? My mercurial attitude to life might explain why some WMTID have a soft centre and hard exterior and others a soft exterior but a hard interior!

”Barcelona”, a spooked vocal creating a decadent Euroscape of a sinister violence.”
Dave Simpson, MM.

lyrics

There is now no echo running through the streets.
The people they hear you yet loathe you but always stand proud...
And Kennedy, time could not beat, beat the rap...
Or the spirit, the illusion, the flag that flies for all.

Amerikana - you try too hard to please.
Amerikana - you put the corporate into sleaze.
Get on your knees.

A Mickey Mouse president, a moron and a bum.
Home of the true, the brave yet despised by all and everyone.
They mean what they say and say it mean,
The cry for freedom as it's always been.

Amerikana - you try too hard to please.
Amerikana - you put the corporate into sleaze.

On good days life must answer to you.
On bad days history answers to no one.
We have known the voice of sanity in our dreams.
Amerika you try too hard to please.

Amerikana - a nation under the thumb.
Amerikana - Mickey Mouse with a hard on and a gun.

There is now no echo running through the streets.
The people they hear you yet loathe you but always stand proud.

Amerikana - you try too hard to please.
Amerikana - you put the corporate into sleaze.
